What's in a name?

Cryzz, not a name you would expect to see for a dog. (In fact, it autocorrects to 'Cruz'.)
But that's some of the fun of having these foster pups.  They don't care what you call them, they just love being talked to!  We see their personalities and give them a new name or at least a nickname; they're are very adaptable.
Cryzz's mom is a Jack Russell and came to us with the name Crystal.  That didn't last the afternoon.  With three boys, nothing too girly will work.  She became Willow when she immediately found the creek with that name in our property within her first hour here.  When we found out she was having puppies the boys were unsure what to expect but thinking of names gave them some ownership.  Our middle son decided that no matter what gender the puppies would be Jerry, Frank, Harrison and to honor the mother, Kryz.  Well the litter was only 2 puppies and the tiny girl only lived 2 days.  We adjusted the spelling to be closer to mom's, and voila, the puppy was named.  Our son was all in after that. He spent the first 2 nights on a cot in the hall with them to make sure everyone ate and stayed put.

I love naming the dogs that come through our home.  Some names stay, others we change while they're here if we discover a quirk or personality trait.  I will call them names my boys would not let me call our dogs or names they are "SO glad" I didn't name them!  Haha.

Nicknames are always fun, too.  Cryzz has been called Cryzzola, Cry-schnizzle, and when he's in trouble he gets called his "formal" name, Cryzztopher.  ;)

Whenever our fosters get adopted we stress that they can change the name, they will adapt.  Going to a loving home with lots of attention means so much to them that whatever you call them, they will come running and learn it very quickly.

Cryzz is ready to go to his fur-ever home.  He is starting to lose some of his puppy energy and will be a great family or working dog.  He lets us hold him, walk him, and is a very good boy in his crate.

He is a big dog in a small body and it could be fun to give him a pun-ny or ironic name.

Give him a closer look and a new home.
